The Greeks wrote numbers with letters from their alphabet so the sequence ( Chi Iota Stigma) in the text fragment shown above represents the number 600 + 10 + 6 or 616.

Let us see if we can't clear some of this up a bit...
"Lucifer" is mentioned only ONCE in the bible:
Isaiah 14:12 (King James Version) - "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!"
That is the only time it appears! Yet, as Andrew states, "...somehow this Lucifer becomes synonymous with the Devil, Satan, the detested angel, Lord of the flies, Little Horn, Beelzebub, the Prince of Darkness, et al."
The Pentagram, or Pentacle is originally an ancient Babylonian symbol for the planet Venus . Long before Jesus's appearance, the Babylonians discovered that the path of Venus on astrological schemes formed a pentacle which was thereafter associated with the mentioned planet.
Venus is closer to the sun than is the earth, which means that it can never be in the sky opposite the sun. If you see a bright star rising in the east after sunset, it cannot be Venus because Venus is always near the sun. Thus Venus is called the evening and the morning star because those are the only times it can appear in a dark sky. ( Illustration )
A superior conjunction occurs when Venus is behind the Sun and the inferior conjunction is when Venus is between Earth and the Sun; in both cases Venus is not visible. However, plotting the recurrence of Venus' westward elongation from the Sun, over five consecutive synodic periods, will create the points of a pentagram. This period is approximately 584 days long, each period determining a different point of the observed pentagram - taking approximately eight years, five days to complete the figure. One would get a pentagram by picking any sunrise date on which the morning star is prominent and then repeating the observation at 584 day intervals following that date.

In addition, Venus orbits the Sun in 224.695 days while Earth orbits the Sun in 365.242 days, creating a ratio of 8/13 (both Fibonacci numbers) or 0.615 (roughly phi.) Thus 5 conjunctions of Earth and Venus occur every 8 orbits of the Earth around the Sun and every 13 orbits of Venus.
"Lucifer" is the Latin term originally used by the Romans to refer to the planet Venus when that planet was west of the sun and hence rose before the sun in the morning, thereby being The Morning Star.

Phi is a unique number, found in art, architecture, and throughout nature. It is the basis for the Golden section (also called the golden mean or ratio). It is named for the Greek letter used as its symbol:

The mathematical principle of The Golden Section is obvious in the Pentacle. The Golden Section can be used to calculate almost everything in the universe. This is the "Golden Ratio."
The Golden Ratio & the Pentagram
If you divide your body length with The Golden Section (0.618 x Your Length) and put your finger on the result you will find yourself pointing at your navel. Afterall, the number is the number of "a man."
Leonardo da Vinci used the golden ratio in setting out the proportions of the human body.
This later became a symbol of evil by an early Christian sect . The Gnostics saw the Golden Section as a fingerprint of an evil creator who made the universe as a trap for the human soul, and since the pentacle is constructed completely of the Golden Section, it became a symbol of the evil side. The Gnostics calculated the Golden Section to be 616 out of 1000. This is why 616 is the Number Of The Beast in early versions of the Bible; Book Of Revelation. A more accurate calculation of the true number would give the number 618, as seen in the sequence of Phi.
This number was later transformed into the well-known 666, a reference to the Emperor Nero. When Nero Caesar's name is transliterated into Hebrew, which a first-century Jew would probably have done, he would have gotten Neron Kesar or simply nrwn qsr, since Hebrew has no letters to represent vowels. It has been documented by archaeological finds that a first century Hebrew spelling of Nero's name provides us with precisely the value of 666. If the Latin spelling Nero is used, the sum of the Hebrew transliteration is 616.
When dissected down to its etymological roots, the word Lucifer is said to mean "light-bringer," from the Latin lux (meaning "light") and ferre (meaning "carry", bear or bring). Yes, Lucifer is a Latin name and it found its way into a Hebrew manuscript, written long before there was a Latin language. The truth of the matter is, the authors of the bible read that this Lucifer had "fallen from heaven" and either incorporated it into their mythology, or simply made a mistake.
"Because Christians openly claim deities such as Lucifer, Beelzebub, and Satan are the same entity; confusion is plentiful. In reality, Beelzebub is nearly indistinguishable from Ba'al but all secular "gods" were demonized and thrown into hell. In Revelation 22:16 Jesus referred to himself as the "bright and morning star."
"You can see the careful editing taking place in the bible when you compare Isaiah 14:12 of the older King James Version, to the newer New International Version. The King James Version reads: "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!" (Isaiah 14:12 ) The New International Version replaces Lucifer with – O Morning Star: "How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn!" (Isaiah 14:12) So, because the New International Version of the bible is the version that calls Lucifer the Morning Star, let's turn to the book of Revelation in this New International Version to Chapter 22 verse 16 and follow this star: 'I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. The mystery of how Venus relates to the life of Christ may be solved by the Native American legends. The first appearance of Venus as a morning star "was probably the most important single event in Mayan astronomy..." one noted astronomer concludes, "Little wonder that the theme of death and resurrection finds symbolic expression in the interaction of these two bodies" (the Sun and Venus).
Nearly every Native American tribe has a legend of a great prophet who visited them in the distant past, and who promised to return someday. He was described as being tall, white-skinned and bearded. He taught a religion of love and service, and he forbade human sacrifice. He also taught agriculture, metallurgy, astronomy, medicine and government. Moreover, "it was held as true that he made the calendar." The English translation of some of these names is the "Feathered Serpent." It was said that he was half man and half god, being the son both of a god and also of abeautiful mortal virgin. The "feathered serpent" symbol seems appropriate because the feathers, exemplifying the power to fly to the heavens, represent godliness, and the serpent represents mortality. This symbolism is virtually identical to Moses's imagery of a fiery, flying serpent which he used to represent the Savior lifted up on the pole to heal all who would look.
Knowing that the setting of Venus as an evening star represents death, allows us to fill in some other orbital symbolism. The rising of Venus as an evening star would represent birth, which is especially appropriate because it rises dim, like a newborn baby. Venus then slowly grows to manhood, but when it reaches its brightest point, it quickly plunges into the earth, even as the Savior was killed in his prime. ( Venus Ressurects )
Lucifer as the Light Bringer represents not only science but a press for truth and understanding in a world of suppression and ignorance. Coincidentally or consequently, Lucifer would become synonymous with the evil Satan - indistinguishable from every other demonic name and blurred into the mix of "that which is evil." Seeking the Light – seeking the truth – is clearly an act (by very definition) in contradiction with faith. As a result, it became a part of an anthropomorphized demon used to scare people away from truth and have them running in fear to their local church with high hopes they wouldn't be cast into hell for their thought-crimes against a very jealous god. Oddly, it was the serpent who (in Genesis 3) told the truth about the fruit of the tree. God tells Adam that eating the fruit will surely kill them, while the serpent tells them it will not kill them but instead make them like the gods. Indeed, eating the fruit did NOT kill Adam and Eve, and God kicks them out of the garden before they take from the "Tree of Life."
As a matter of fact, Adam, Eve and "Lucifer" were all three charged with the very same crimes - trying to be like God.
Genesis 2:17 - "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."
Genesis 3:4-5 - "And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."
Genesis 3:22 - "And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:"
* "one of us" being a slip of the tongue? As it would imply more than ONE god?
And so man ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. One may ask, What is this "Fruit " of the tree of knowledge - this sacred meal in which you eat to obtain the light of god... I assume those here will jump to answer that question

Vav (or Waw), no. 6 expresses the fertilizing agent, the male copulative principle, and that which impregnates. Waw or Vav (6) is the copulative element (the 'male' energy), the primary or fundamental act of fertisilation. It is male in both its action and in its form or representation. Hashem's seal has been understood in Judaism for thousands of years and since Creation as the Hebrew letter Sav. Christians / Messianics regard Hashem's seal with its Gematria construction of Vav {6} plus Vav {6} plus Vav {6} to be "666" which they claim to be "the mark of the Beast."
Now, in fact, the letter Sav does NOT represent the mark of the beast. The Sav represents the seal of Hashem the Creator. Hashem's seal is placed upon the forehead of the righteous IN INK representing "life in the World to Come" and Hashem's seal is placed upon the forehead of the wicked IN BLOOD meaning "you shall die in this life and in the next world." The righteous are sealed to life IN INK and the wicked are sealed to death IN BLOOD. The same seal is used.
2012 & 666
It is an ancient generality that the end is rooted in the beginning a thing related to the circular manner of life: the end of the day and the beginning of the night revolve until the end of the night is the beginning of the day—all ends are rooted in their beginning. So too with the calendar: the end date is a direct function of the beginning, particularly in the case of the Mayan calendar which was constructed 1500 years ago during the time of Mohammad the Prophet.
It was from this middle vantage point that the Mayans affixed their calendar which just happens to intersect both the Hebrew and Roman calendars. Those who try to understand the phenomenon of 2012 focus on the end time when we are living, but the beginning is even more important than the end. The Mayan calendar begins over 4000 years before the Roman calendar begins and while the Hebrew calendar was still in her youth—the year was 666 in the Hebrew calendar, a number whose meaning has been skewed by Rome into something demonic.
The number 666, whose combination is 18 a value associated with Chai/Life, has been used as an emblem of death and destruction by the Roman Empire through the means of their religion. The Mayan calendar began on that prestigious date and ends 106 years after the last occurrence of the 666 in the 6000 year Hebrew calendar because the 666 as explained in Cabala is the sign of sexuality and it is between these two dates, 666 and 2012, that the sexual identity is being forged by the human being.
The Cabala explains the previous world was devoid of sexual energy since life was autonomous; life accrued from basic elements and each life form was independent and self-absorbed. Sexuality did exist but was dormant until the vessels from the world of Tohu/Confusion—Mars, broke into male and female to seed our world with life called out of the ground during the six days of creation.
The number six is predominant throughout this creation since it is here that sexuality will be defined; as a sign from the rabbis who made laws concerning all human activities but left the arena of sexuality completely without law or restriction—between two consenting adults any action is allowed. The Mayan calendar closely adheres to the history of sexuality from its adolescent beginning in the year 666 until 2012 when the last of the five permutations of the YHVH (26-1966; 45-1986; 52-1993; 63-2003; 72-2012) have been revealed.
These are defining moments for the human being and there is no question, as witnessed from the ethereal light coming from the celestial heavens upon the horizon of 6000 years of human history, it is going to be a beautiful sunrise. The darkest time is just before the dawn and that time has elapsed. Religion has made there last claim on Armageddon and will dissolve into the light like the temporal foam upon an oceanic universe.

Intermingled within the crowds of displaced persons were some of Europe's most notorious war criminals, individuals who had the blood of millions on their hands. U.S Intelligence agencies knew Bishop Hudal's mission and even helped provide transportation, living quarters and even identity papers for some of Hudal's chosen few. Over 30,000 Nazi war criminals made their way to freedom and a new life. ODESSA was an amateur escape organization when compared to the Vatican RATLINE. A large number of these escaped criminals were not even German, thousands were eastern European collaborators who willingly killed for the Nazis.

As early as 1947, Simon Wiesenthal began to identify escape routes used by Nazis to escape from Germany. The main route he discovered was from the small Bavarian town of Memmingen to Innsbruck, Austria. From there, it was possible to cross into Italy over the Brenner pass. Wiesenthal later learned the Nazis referred to this as the "B-B" route, from Bremen in Germany to the Italian port of Bari. He also knew that the fugitives had little or no difficulty obtaining false papers and seemed to have enough money available in their new home to establish comfortable new lives. Wiesenthal concluded a secret organization with substantial resources had to be involved in helping fugitive Nazis. The seeds of that project were planted before World War II ended.
By 1944 it was clear that the fortunes of war had turned against Nazi Germany. Many Germans began to anticipate defeat and to plan for that eventuality. On August 10, 1944, a secret meeting of top German industrialists and bankers was held at the Maison Rouge hotel in Strasbourg to devise a means of insuring a secure future for Nazis. Among those attending were coal tycoon Emil Kirdorf, Georg von Schnitzler of IG Farben, Gustav Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach, steel magnate, Fritz Thyssen, and banker Kurt von Schroeder.
The Nazis recognized that Germany's assets would fall into the hands of the rapidly approaching enemy if they were not transferred and hidden. The nation's wealth, much of it acquired through the plunder of the nations it invaded and the people the Nazis murdered, had to be transferred so they would be out of judicial reach, but accessible to fund a future movement to resurrect the party and build a new Reich. Leading Nazi officials also feared retribution from the Allies and, rather than face likely punishment for their war crimes, they decided to seek safe havens outside Germany, and beyond the reach of justice. According to the protocol from the meeting:

Steps have therefore been taken to lodge the less prominent party leaders as "technical experts" in various German enterprises. The party is prepared to lend large sums of money to industrialists to enable every one of them to set up a secret post-war organization abroad, but as collateral it demands that the industrialists make available to it exisitng resources abroad, so that a strong German Reich may re-emerge after the defeat.....
The outcome of the meeting in Strasbourg was the genesis of an organization; one well-financed and well-organised, with the express purpose of helping fleeing Nazis escape justice. This organization was called the "Organization Der Ehemaligen SS-Angehörigen" ( "The Organization of former SS members) — better known as Odessa.
Wiesenthal learned of Odessa accidentally during conversations with a former member of German counter-espionage who he met during the Nuremberg trials.The source said the organization was set up in 1946 after many Nazis already had been imprisoned. Those in jail contacted friends and aid committees that had been established to promote the welfare of prisoners. The assistance often went beyond humanitarian aid to abetting their escape.
In short order, Odessa, built a large and reliable network geared to achieve its ends, and began operations. Routes were mapped and contacts were established. Influential Nazis vanished as they were secretly ushered out of Germany and assisted in starting new lives under false names in foreign countries. At the end of the war, only a handful of high-ranking Nazi officials stood trial. Many who were guilty of war crimes escaped with the help of Odessa.
Some war criminals remained in Germany and took on new identities, managing to get themselves smuggled out of Germany and to freedom during the chaos at the end of hostilities. An underground network called "Die Spiner" (The Spider) supplied false papers and passports, safe houses, and contacts that could smuggle war criminals across the un-patrolled Swiss borders. Once into Switzerland, they moved on quickly to Italy, using what some called "The Monastery Route." Roman Catholic priests, especially Franciscans, helped Odessa move fugitives from one monastery to the next until they reached Rome. According to Wiesenthal, one Franciscan monastery, Via Sicilia in Rome, was virtually a transit station for Nazis, an arrangement made possible by a bishop from Graz named Alois Hudal. Wiesenthal speculates that the motive for most of the priests was what he viewed as a misguided notion of Christian charity. Once in Italy, the fugitives were out of danger, and many then dispersed around the globe.
Some countries may not have known about their new immigrants' pasts, but many did and chose to look the other way. Others, including the United States, looked to exploit the knowledge of Nazis. Fascist countries, such as Spain under Franco, as well as those in South America, became safe havens. The establishment of the state of Israel after World War II led some Arab nations to welcome Nazis who shared their hatred of the Jews in the hope they would use their experise in areas such as rocketry to tilt the balance in the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Adolf Eichmann was one of the most notorious of the Nazis to escape Germany thanks to ODESSA, but he was eventually captured in South America by Israeli Intelligence agents and brought back to Israel to stand trial for his crimes against the Jewish people.
The Catholic Church not only intentionally helped Nazi war criminals escape justice, but helped them establish new lives in foreign countries. The Vatican used every means at their disposal to assist war criminals, including dressing SS officers in priests clothing and laundering hundreds of millions of gold bullion through Vatican banking channels.
Wealth plundered by the Nazis from their victims has been traced to banks in Switzerland, Sweden, Portugal and other neutral countries that were secretly helping the Nazis stash stolen gold or launder it to buy war materiel. One state after another has reluctantly opened its archives and banking records to aid the search, with one glaring exception: the Vatican.
So far the Vatican has flatly refused to allow investigators access to its archives, despite repeated pleas from several nations and from Jewish groups. A task force headed by the US Undersecretary of State Stuart Eizenstat is expected to issue a report that questions the Vatican's wartime financial dealings. And mounting evidence suggests that plunder from the Ustasha, Croatia's pro-Nazi fascist government during the war, with the aid of Croatian Catholic priests, made its way to Rome. Some of it was used to help Croatian war criminals flee to South America.
From 1941 to 1945, the Ustashas exterminated an estimated 500,000 Serbs, Jews and Gypsies, and looted their property. They demanded 1,000 kilograms of gold from the Jews of Zagreb, only to ship them to concentration camps and kill them anyway. The Croatian Catholic Church was closely entangled with the Ustashas: in the early years of the war, Catholic priests oversaw forced conversion of Orthodox Serbs while Franciscans distributed propaganda.
Several high Catholic officials in Yugoslavia were later indicted for war crimes. They included Fr. Dragutin Kamber, who ordered the killing of nearly 300 Orthodox Serbs, the "hangman of the Serbs" Bishop Ivan Saric of Sarajevo, and Bishop Gregory Rozman of Slovenia, a wanted Nazi collaborator. A trial in 1946 resulted in the conviction of a half-dozen Ustasha priests, including former Franciscan Miroslav Filipovic-Majstorovic, a commandant of a concentration camp where the Ustashas tortured and slaughtered hundreds of thousands with a brutality that shocked even the Nazis.
As more secret documents become public, it is Fr. Krunoslav Draganovic, who emerges as the most significant player of all. The Franciscan had been a senior official of the Ustasha committee that handled the forced conversion of the Serbs. In 1943, the Ustasha arranged with the Church for Draganovic to be sent to Rome. There he served at a seminary of Croatian monks that was in fact a center of clandestine Ustasha activity. He also became the Ustasha's unofficial emissary at the Vatican and liaison to the Vatican organization to aid war refugees. Draganovic and collaborators such as Fr. Golik provided the means and support, including forged Red Cross passports, for a number of Ustasha war criminals to escape justice. Through an underground railroad of sympathetic priests known as "the ratline", the Ustashas were able to escape to neutral countries, primarily Argentina. Virtually the entire Ustasha leadership went free.
The day that Germany capitulated 288 kilograms of gold were removed from the Croatian National Bank and state treasury. Some of that landed in Draganovic's hands. Called the "Golden Priest", he doled it out to Croatian refugees, including Ustasha soldiers. He was never charged and returned to Yugoslavia, in 1983.
A memo that surfaced last summer prompted the State Department's interest, but the Vatican swiftly dismissed it, saying the charges could not be true. Other reports mention Ustashas meeting Vatican officials, living in the Vatican; even being hidden at the pope's summer retreat at Castel Gandolfo and driving cars with Vatican plates in Rome.
The Vatican's tolerance of the Ustasha during the war was no secret, but though they insist they have nothing to hide, they refuse outside researchers free access to their archives because the collection contains sensitive personnel files. As a general rule, the Vatican says it releases church documents only after about 75 years, but outside observers contend it is much rarer than that. 3/25/97
A lawsuit, Alperin v. Vatican Bank, filed in San Francisco Federal Court in November 1999 by Serb, Jewish, and Ukrainian Holocaust survivors against the Vatican Bank and Franciscans seeks return of Nazi loot stolen from wartime Yugoslavia. According to a 1998 US State Department report, the money known as the Ustasha Treasury, is thought to have been concealed in the Vatican and used in part to fund the escape of Nazi and Croatian war criminals to South America. The Franciscans acted as facilitators and middlemen in moving the contents of the Ustasha Treasury from Croatia to Austria, Italy and finally South America.

Among those attending were coal tycoon Emil Kirdorf, Georg von Schnitzler of IG Farben, Gustav Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach, steel magnate, Fritz Thyssen, and banker Kurt von Schroeder.
The Nazis recognized that Germany's assets would fall into the hands of the rapidly approaching enemy if they were not transferred and hidden. The nation's wealth, much of it acquired through the plunder of the nations it invaded and the people the Nazis murdered, had to be transferred so they would be out of judicial reach, but accessible to fund a future movement to resurrect the party and build a new Reich. Leading Nazi officials also feared retribution from the Allies and, rather than face likely punishment for their war crimes, they decided to seek safe havens outside Germany, and beyond the reach of justice. The outcome of the meeting in Strasbourg was the genesis of an organization; one well-financed and well-organised, with the express purpose of helping fleeing Nazis escape justice. This organization was called the "Organization Der Ehemaligen SS-Angehörigen" ( "The Organization of former SS members) — better known as Odessa.
Wiesenthal learned of Odessa accidentally during conversations with a former member of German counter-espionage who he met during the Nuremberg trials.The source said the organization was set up in 1946 after many Nazis already had been imprisoned. Those in jail contacted friends and aid committees that had been established to promote the welfare of prisoners. The assistance often went beyond humanitarian aid to abetting their escape.
In short order, Odessa, built a large and reliable network geared to achieve its ends, and began operations. Routes were mapped and contacts were established. Influential Nazis vanished as they were secretly ushered out of Germany and assisted in starting new lives under false names in foreign countries. At the end of the war, only a handful of high-ranking Nazi officials stood trial. Many who were guilty of war crimes escaped with the help of Odessa.
Some war criminals remained in Germany and took on new identities, managing to get themselves smuggled out of Germany and to freedom during the chaos at the end of hostilities. An underground network called "Die Spiner" (The Spider) supplied false papers and passports, safe houses, and contacts that could smuggle war criminals across the un-patrolled Swiss borders. Once into Switzerland, they moved on quickly to Italy, using what some called "The Monastery Route." Roman Catholic priests, especially Franciscans, helped Odessa move fugitives from one monastery to the next until they reached Rome. According to Wiesenthal, one Franciscan monastery, Via Sicilia in Rome, was virtually a transit station for Nazis, an arrangement made possible by a bishop from Graz named Alois Hudal. Wiesenthal speculates that the motive for most of the priests was what he viewed as a misguided notion of Christian charity. Once in Italy, the fugitives were out of danger, and many then dispersed around the globe.
Some countries may not have known about their new immigrants' pasts, but many did and chose to look the other way. Others, including the United States, looked to exploit the knowledge of Nazis. Fascist countries, such as Spain under Franco, as well as those in South America, became safe havens. The establishment of the state of Israel after World War II led some Arab nations to welcome Nazis who shared their hatred of the Jews in the hope they would use their experise in areas such as rocketry to tilt the balance in the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Adolf Eichmann was one of the most notorious of the Nazis to escape Germany thanks to ODESSA, but he was eventually captured in South America by Israeli Intelligence agents and brought back to Israel to stand trial for his crimes against the Jewish people.
The Catholic Church not only intentionally helped Nazi war criminals escape justice, but helped them establish new lives in foreign countries. The Vatican used every means at their disposal to assist war criminals, including dressing SS officers in priests clothing and laundering hundreds of millions of gold bullion through Vatican banking channels.
Wealth plundered by the Nazis from their victims has been traced to banks in Switzerland, Sweden, Portugal and other neutral countries that were secretly helping the Nazis stash stolen gold or launder it to buy war materiel. The Croatian Catholic Church was closely entangled with the Ustashas: in the early years of the war, Catholic priests oversaw forced conversion of Orthodox Serbs while Franciscans distributed propaganda.
Several high Catholic officials in Yugoslavia were later indicted for war crimes. They included Fr. Dragutin Kamber, who ordered the killing of nearly 300 Orthodox Serbs, the "hangman of the Serbs" Bishop Ivan Saric of Sarajevo, and Bishop Gregory Rozman of Slovenia, a wanted Nazi collaborator. A trial in 1946 resulted in the conviction of a half-dozen Ustasha priests, including former Franciscan Miroslav Filipovic-Majstorovic, a commandant of a concentration camp where the Ustashas tortured and slaughtered hundreds of thousands with a brutality that shocked even the Nazis.
As more secret documents become public, it is Fr. Krunoslav Draganovic, who emerges as the most significant player of all. The Franciscan had been a senior official of the Ustasha committee that handled the forced conversion of the Serbs. In 1943, the Ustasha arranged with the Church for Draganovic to be sent to Rome. There he served at a seminary of Croatian monks that was in fact a center of clandestine Ustasha activity. He also became the Ustasha's unofficial emissary at the Vatican and liaison to the Vatican organization to aid war refugees. Draganovic and collaborators such as Fr. Golik provided the means and support, including forged Red Cross passports, for a number of Ustasha war criminals to escape justice. Through an underground railroad of sympathetic priests known as "the ratline", the Ustashas were able to escape to neutral countries, primarily Argentina. Virtually the entire Ustasha leadership went free.
The day that Germany capitulated 288 kilograms of gold were removed from the Croatian National Bank and state treasury. Some of that landed in Draganovic's hands. Called the "Golden Priest", he doled it out to Croatian refugees, including Ustasha soldiers. He was never charged and returned to Yugoslavia, in 1983.
A memo that surfaced last summer prompted the State Department's interest, but the Vatican swiftly dismissed it, saying the charges could not be true. Other reports mention Ustashas meeting Vatican officials, living in the Vatican; even being hidden at the pope's summer retreat at Castel Gandolfo and driving cars with Vatican plates in Rome.
The Vatican's tolerance of the Ustasha during the war was no secret, but though they insist they have nothing to hide, they refuse outside researchers free access to their archives because the collection contains sensitive personnel files. Vatican Bank, filed in San Francisco Federal Court in November 1999 by Serb, Jewish, and Ukrainian Holocaust survivors against the Vatican Bank and Franciscans seeks return of Nazi loot stolen from wartime Yugoslavia. According to a 1998 US State Department report, the money known as the Ustasha Treasury, is thought to have been concealed in the Vatican and used in part to fund the escape of Nazi and Croatian war criminals to South America. WHEN ASTROLOGY MEETS ASTRONOMY
The Zodiac derives from the yearly path Sol (our sun) seemingly takes across particular constellations, which is why there are twelve astrological signs. Or, at least, there were 12 when the Zodiac was created a few thousand years ago. In the solar cycle, there are 12 months, but the lunar cycle has 13. The Mayans recognized 13 star signs. 13 was significant in ancient Celtic society, considered sacred as they revered the feminine and therefore the lunar cycle and Luna (our moon). The sun is a masculine symbol; the moon, feminine. So our male dominated society elevates and operates by the sun. For habit and convenience, twelve signs of the Zodiac (Western or Chinese) have been accepted and perpetuated as constant and unchanging. But since the impact of a 26,000 year long wobble called "precession" has caused Earth's orientation to gradually shift slightly, Sol passes over a thirteenth constellation between Scorpio and Sagittarius, from November 30 to December 17: Ophiuchus, the Serpent Bearer/Holder.
Technically, this makes Ophiuchus the twelfth sign, and Sagittarius the thirteenth.
Consequently, this alteration of the cycle inevitably skews astrological alignment and thus its influences on and application to us; as well as variances in the ebb and flow of cosmic energies, electromagnetic and gravitational forces we are exposed to.
Metaphorically, could the appearance of snake wielding Ophiuchus in our sky be an auspicious omen, denoting an imminent and unfolding transitional time of healing and enlightenment? Maybe this represents the prophesied return of Christ?
Despite Christianity's negative associations, the snake or serpent has long been a symbol of knowledge, wisdom and healing in the religious and occult traditions of many cultures; especially ancient societies. The Dragon, Ouroboros, Asclepius and Caduceus iconography prominent among them. But even the Biblical serpent can be interpreted positively as a harbinger of awareness or consciousness.
Ophiuchus, an alias or equivalent of Aesclepius, is the Greek god of healing. Supposedly based on a real person, he was responsible for allegedly resurrecting the dead with his medical skill through a myth involving insight from a serpent. It is said that Asclepius accomplished this feat with an herb that he witnessed a serpent using to revive another serpent that Asclepius had killed with his staff.
Hence, the Asclepius icon (staff wrapped with single snake) and then later Caduceus (staff entwined with two snakes) becoming universal symbols of medicine or hospitals.
The Caduceus also has connections with Hermes in Greek myth, and Mercury in Roman myth, signifying a messenger of the gods. It has been observed that the image resembles a double helix. Quetzalcoatl, the Meso-American inspiration god, appeared as a feathered serpent. Ancient Egyptians also had a version of Ophiuchus, whom they knew as Imhotep… so perhaps, like Christ, this is an example of a recurring mythic archetype… and like the story of Saint Nick, was exaggerated and transfigured.
It is interesting to note that in the Norse depiction of Armageddon - called by them Ragnarok, a man-god – Thor - wrestles with a giant serpent named Jormungand for the fate of the world. And in the TV show Millennium, the logo of a group who sought to control the end of the world was the Ouroboros.
Snake oil, familiar in pop-culture as a folk tale image of miracle salve to cure any pain or illness, is a euphemism for a product sold with exaggerated or fraudulent claims; but is a real Chinese remedy used to sooth joint pain.

Which sounds a lot like Road to Xibalba and the Tree of Life mentioned in the movie The Fountain.
According to (translation of) The Mayan Mesoamerican Long Count calendar - which would mark its thirteenth and final cycle before resetting to 0 (13.0.0.0), in this age of Ophiuchus, this date may also signify the impending end of the world. Because the Mayan calendar ends then and there, many people are wondering and anticipating-- as they did with the year 2000 (and we all saw how that turned out) - about what this means. A calendar that reportedly began at 3114 B.C, approximately the same time period established in the Egyptian Long Count Calendar…. under 6000 years ago - the point when many contemporary Christians claim the world began. So perhaps, at least symbolically or conceptually, this was the time of our Genesis, when the world as we know it started.
How the Mayans and Egyptians determined such things involves a math way beyond my pay grade, and is another matter entirely. Clearly, the fact that these allegedly less advanced peoples had access to this kind of information shows they knew something about the nature of the universe - of life, death and time - that we do not. Enough so that they could predict or project metaphysical and archetypal manifestations. They recognized and accepted that history and nature repeat in celestial cycles, which even Nietzsche noted in his idea of Eternal Recurrence.
Could Atlantis have existed and been destroyed 26,000 years ago? Causing mankind to effectively start over? Is this what we can expect from 2012? Have the Mayans given us just such a warning?
Why does the calendar stop, so conclusively? Apparently, that Mayan calendar seems designed to accommodate and usher in 2012. Some are speculating a devastating and transformative pole shift with drastic climate change, others expect instead a more constructive shift in paradigm, or both or neither. Perhaps destruction leads to construction. Astronomers present a possibility that the effects of precession will alter magnetic polarity of the sun, combined with gravitational forces from the simultaneous alignment of other planets, might cause massive solar flares, and maybe could move the axis of the Earth. Never mind whatever energies or transmissions are released upon us by aligning also with galactic center. Mayan prophecy claims that, in this period, we will experience a realignment that synchronizes us with the cycles of nature, mutating us and accelerating our evolution.
The Buddha is said to have initiated/predicted the Wheel of Dharma to turn every 500 years, for five turns… the fifth revolution having supposedly occurred in 2000, in close enough proximity to effect/initialize 2012, which also happens to be the Year of the Dragon (of serpent imagery, emblematic of wisdom, daring and change).
In addition, the I Ching is a type of calendar system; The Book of Changes, with its 64 hexagrams, concerns the progression of time. The Yin and Yang symbol reflects the yearly cycle, with Yin/black as the female/lunar and Yang/white as the male/solar. The trigrams that compose the hexagrams are extensions of Yin (broken line) and Yang (solid line), depicting a process of balance and unification. 64 outcomes times 6 lines each equals 384, indicating a 13 month lunar cycle.
Using a computer program assigning a date to each of the 64 possibilities, starting with when the I Ching was created, philosopher/ethno-botanist Terrence McKenna realized that it corresponded to a pattern he describes and illustrates as a "time wave", which ends - independently and ignorantly of the Mayans - on December 12, 2012.
There seems to be an almost binary nature and mathematical symmetry to it.
Implications of all these "coincidences" are stunning; the meme is too persistent, common and substantial to ignore or dismiss as meaningless or accidental.
Astrology and astronomy are not mutually exclusive, and ancient "primitive" cultures more in tune with nature understood this, as they monitored the position of stars in relation to natural planetary rhythms and cycles in order to plan their lives within these patterns.
For them, there was no distinction - astrology was astronomy, and no separation between Man and nature existed. Just as the location of the sun and moon and other planets effect the status and behavior of the planet, so they likewise effect people in both direct and subtle ways. The Buddha is said to have initiated/predicted the Wheel of Dharma to turn every 500 years, for five turns… the fifth revolution having supposedly occurred in 2000, in close enough proximity to effect/initialize 2012, which also happens to be the Year of the Dragon (of serpent imagery, emblematic of wisdom, daring and change).
In addition, the I Ching is a type of calendar system; The Book of Changes, with its 64 hexagrams, concerns the progression of time. The Yin and Yang symbol reflects the yearly cycle, with Yin/black as the female/lunar and Yang/white as the male/solar. The trigrams that compose the hexagrams are extensions of Yin (broken line) and Yang (solid line), depicting a process of balance and unification. 64 outcomes times 6 lines each equals 384, indicating a 13 month lunar cycle.
Using a computer program assigning a date to each of the 64 possibilities, starting with when the I Ching was created, philosopher/ethno-botanist Terrence McKenna realized that it corresponded to a pattern he describes and illustrates as a "time wave", which ends - independently and ignorantly of the Mayans - on December 12, 2012.
There seems to be an almost binary nature and mathematical symmetry to it.
Implications of all these "coincidences" are stunning; the meme is too persistent, common and substantial to ignore or dismiss as meaningless or accidental.
Astrology and astronomy are not mutually exclusive, and ancient "primitive" cultures more in tune with nature understood this, as they monitored the position of stars in relation to natural planetary rhythms and cycles in order to plan their lives within these patterns.
For them, there was no distinction - astrology was astronomy, and no separation between Man and nature existed. Just as the location of the sun and moon and other planets effect the status and behavior of the planet, so they likewise effect people in both direct and subtle ways. It isn't necessarily so much the stars that influence people, but their relative placement in the sky at various times of the year.
Over the last decade, a collective sense of anticipation, anxiety and apprehension of some great cosmic change approaching seems to infuse the psychology of the general populace. We see it abundantly in the New Age literature and Liberal sociology, in the reactions to potential end times for 2000 and 2012. Like animals perceiving a climatic change indicating rain or earthquake, we feel a subconscious vibration suggesting something on the horizon. Something is about to happen; we don't know exactly what, or how, but maybe we know when. In the Samurai code of Hagakure, the end is important in all things.
Although, we should keep in mind - and would be wise to, that endings are also beginnings.
When one door closes, another opens.
To the Mayan culture, life and death were intrinsically and intimately connected. For them, as with Nietzsche, Buddhists and the Samurai, to die well is to have lived well. In other words, gracefully and gratefully. A New World Order is perched on the horizon.
Change is an inevitable aspect in the natural order of things, and to survive we must work with it, not against it.
